Amazon.com Review

Tall enough to open a 7-inch-high can, this electric can opener is as practical as it is stylish. It has a knife sharpener in the rear as well as push-in cord storage, allowing for tidiness on the counter. The cutting lever removes for easy cleanup. Clad in gleaming black plastic, the opener measures 8-7/8 inches high, 4-1/4 inches wide at the base, and 3-1/2 inches deep. When operating, a magnet flips down and grips the top of the can, then lifts it off when the can is removed. --Fred Brack

3.0 out of 5 stars Opens cans easily but cutting attachement comes off easily, May 4, 2005
After being frustrated with our old can opener not opening cans easily, we decided to buy a new one. We bought the Proctor Silex can opener, and have been very pleased with how easy it opens up most cans on the first attempt (our old can opener usually took 3-5 tries to get it to start cutting). One thing I don't like about this can opener is that the cutting attachment comes off too easily. It pops off almost every time I finish cutting open a can. It is easy to put back into its slot, but it is frustrating how easy it is to get it off. I really wish they would redesign how the cutting attachement locks into place, as if that was fixed, this would be a great can opener.

1.0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for, January 9, 2007

Used the product for about a month. I was deceived by the add thinking I was getting a knife sharpener with a electric grinding wheel like I had growing up on the back of the can opener. The one on this can opener is just a slide though, and doesn't work well. The unit is light weight and falls over easily with big cans. The blade and lid carrier falls off quite a bit. I didn't send it back because it was cheap and not worth the trouble. If your looking for a can opener and an electric knife sharpener keep looking, don't buy this one.

3.0 out of 5 stars This works okay., November 4, 2006

But it's kinda flimsy and the parts tend to fall off during operation. Not a very solid design at all but I guess you get what you pay for.
